Globalprotect VPN tunnel interface-IP address

L4 Transporter

My global protect VPN's tunnel interface does not have an IP assigned but I would like to assign it a fictitious IP to enable tunnel monitoring/ dynamic routing.  will it cause any issues to the remote users? what role does this IP play in the tunnel interface?

you can add the IP without impact to the users

The role for the IP is to be able to preform tunnel monitoring or, for example NAT and routing in a site to site IPSec tunnel

It does not do anything specific by just adding an IP, as the tunnel works without IP for most VPN connections (user or route-based site-to-site)

@reaper I am trying to configure Multicast routing over vpn. Does Palo support that? I obeserved my machine was sending igmpv3 when I'm on VPN but v2 when I'm on-site. Firewall is uanble to estanlish IGMP membership.

Not sure where to look.

you can configure multicast in the virtual router
