Hardware refresh HA pair of 2050's to 3020's

L0 Member

I need to refresh some 2050's HA pairs for 3020 HA pairs.  This shoud be a pretty simple prcedure but I cannot find any instructions on how to perform this upgrade.  Beside the fact 2050's don't have dedicated HA interfaces, are there any other gotcha's that spring to mind?

In a nutshell, my plan was to bring the new pair into Panorama with their own IP addresses ,then copy the configs from the 2050's onto the new hardware, fix any problems with HA interfaces and schedule a swap of the cables between the hardware.

Is there an easy way to copy a portion of the exising config (minus the IP addresses and HA stuff etc)?

Appreciate your thoughts please.

Hi...There's a similar discussion for platforrm upgrade here that may help:  https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/t5/General-Topics/PA-Platform-Upgrade-Migration/m-p/3441#M2561.

You will need to make sure any change to the physical port(s) are covered like you noted the HA ports.  Also, any UTP to fiber Ethernet port change, etc.
