I'm curious what content is included in the PaloAlto config file.

L1 Bithead

Hello
Customers want to know what is contained in the paloalto config file (web - device - setup - operation).

Customers wonder if the config file includes security rules, nat rules, routing information, and updates (such as Pan-os or app&threat contents).

I also searched the related documentation, but couldn't find any of the above.

Could you please provide a link to the article, if any?
If there is no document, please check how the customer can check the items they want to know in the config file.

thank you.

Hi @MinSeob-KWON ,

The configuration file/snapshot that you will export from the firewall will be xml file. That will include all the object groups, security/NAT polices, routes, profile config, interface/zone config etc. If you want to see the content of your config file, you can open it in the notepad++ or through api in web browser to see the content.

There are various Palo Alto provided articles available on it. Below are few of them for your ref.

Ref. article 1

Ref. article 2

Hope it helps!
