Hello,
just configured a L3 IF and a MGT IF on a PA-2050 with identical IP-Subnets but with different default gateways (the one for the MGT IF configured in the setup section and the one for the L3 in the default vrouter).
My question is: Is this allowed (Same subnet MGT and L3) with different default gateways or can this cause some routing problems?
Any answers welcome.
Stefan

Hi Stefan
The mgmt interface sits in a different routing entity than the other interfaces, so you are allowed to put them in the same subnet and have them point to different default gateways

Hi Tom,
this is what I think abaout that. Perhaps there is a Bug which causes some strange Routing behaviour, becauss some Packets are send to the MGT IF default router and not directly to the attached network. This seems to make a Loop.
I have to analyze the problem again and perhaps open a case.
Thanks so far.
Stefan
