Minemeld with AWS Guard Duty Integration

L1 Bithead

Hi,

I just went through the python extension install successfully of the Guard Duty miner for Minemeld.  It looks like it installed successfully, but after I restarted Minemeld I can't see anything.   I create a role for my Minemeld instance to have access to Guard Duty.  Is there something I am missing in this install that would get this integration working?

Followed this link:  https://github.com/mrichardson03/aws-guardduty-miner

Installing collected packages: aws-guardduty-miner

Successfully installed aws-guardduty-miner-0.1

Thanks,

This has been fixed in the repository.  You'll need to restart the MineMeld services after loading the extension so that the added Python packages get pulled in.

This solution works great.   A couple of other points after adding the extension restart Minemeld.  After adding the cloned node, restart Minemeld, then when you go back the config area of cloned node will allow you to add credentials for a limited AWS user.   Last thing is make sure you add Guard Duty to the Input Aggregator and then everything will get added to the list and propagate back to your firewall.
