MS Windows 'Auto-VPN' and UWP

L0 Member

MS Windows 10 has the concept of 'Auto VPN' which will make use of their UPW plug-in architecture.

Universal Windows Platform (UWP) VPN plug-in platform are built on top of the Windows VPN platform

I am told There are a number of Universal Windows Platform VPN applications, such as Pulse Secure, Cisco AnyConnect, F5 Access, Sonicwall Mobile Connect, and Check Point Capsule which currently support UWP.

No Mention of Global Protect.  Anyone any idea if GP will be on the roadmap for this?

Thanks

Neil

Hi,

The GlobalProtect UWP client is in the Microsoft Store. Last time I checked, it needed the mobile GlobalProtect license even if it was installed on a Windows desktop.

@BenjAudy.MTL is correct, at least the last time I looked at it. The UWP app is seen as a mobile device, so without the GP license you can't actually use it and you will be forced to use the actual client.
