NAT + DIPP question

L1 Bithead

Hi - we have experienced an issue where users in a certain zone were having intermittent problems accessing the internet. We speculated that there could be a NAT issue, and the pool might be full, or translations just werent working. The pool is large and it shouldn't be fillling up.

As a troubleshooting step, we enabled overload / DIPP on the NAT rule, and the issue appeared resolved.

When we use the CLI command; show running ippool | match <Pool_Name> we can see that even though there is NAT addressing available, the Overload/DIPP address is being used. Is this expected behaviour? We are only around <50% utilization of the pool? I know i can raise a support case, but was interested if anyone has thoughts on why this would happen.

Any further troubleshooting steps that i could take to work out what is going on here?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.
