We activated the SSLVPN client v1.2 last week. When some users attempted to upgrade, they would receive the following error and the upgrade would fail. The end result was an installed NetConnect Installer but no NetConnect VPN Client. These users were on client v1.0.3.
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
This error also occurred when attempting to install client v1.2 using the MSI.
The affected users had Windows XP SP1. Installing SP3 resoved the problem. This has since been replicated by testing on a clean Windows XP SP1a (virtual machine). It should be noted that v1.1.2 also installs successfully on XP SP1, so the requirement is new for v1.2.
I recommend that this issue be added to the "Known Issues" section of the release notes.
