no-pbf action rule not matching traffic

L2 Linker

Hello,

After creating some PBF rules, I'm checking out if there's some traffic matching or not. I realize that PBF regular rules, are SHOWING matches. But the PBF with no-pbf action rules are not showing matches. I believe that the action is working but the counter is not working properly. Do you know the expected behavior?

By the other hand, If the previous question behavior is correct, then PBF rules use sequence number to match the rule as security rules?or use the most accurate rule as routing process to hit the rule?

PANOS 4.0.1

Thank you,

Robclav

Good Morning,

For each PBF forward we will increment a counter and for each discard also log and increment. A no-PBF will result in a route based action and we do not increment a counter for this.  The inclusion or exclusion of any logging or counters is typically made based on the cost of that feature vs. the value it adds in reporting and troubleshooting. This counter was omitted based on these variables and the feeling was that the cost outweighed the benefit.
