PA-5020 Fans?

L4 Transporter

Just checking to see if this is normal.

I got a report today that the fan speed on our PA-5020 will speed up at random times, and calm back down. It's loud enough people can hear it outside of the closet.

Is that normal?

Yes, that is normal. Fan speed will vary based on the temperature.  If you run "show system environmentals"

----Fans----

Slot   Description                         Alarm      RPMs

S1    Fan #1 RPM                          False      6408

S1    Fan #2 RPM                          False      5601

S1    Fan #3 RPM                          False      6250

S1    Fan #4 RPM                          False      5809

S1    Fan #5 RPM                          False      6192

You should be fine until you see Alarm set to True. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Hi Marding,

Provide us output for "show system environmentals". If speed is close to 6000 RPM than its normal. If its too high than its an issue.

Make sure Alarm is "False" for all the FANS, if its true for any than its an issue.

Regards,

Hardik Shah
