Palo alto top application are DNS and Ping (total 70%)

L1 Bithead

We have two 3260 FW in HA pair and using DNS proxy for the GP VPN user's (average 500 users/daily).

Palo alto's top applications are DNS and Ping (total 70% in terms of session count), Is anything wrong ?

Hello @sharink

This depends on your split-tunnel design. If you grant access to every resource in the Internet (realized by sending RFC1918 only back to the firewall), what else do you provide via the firewall (besides DNS)?

Only internal application allowed through the tunnel from GP VPN client, rest is over the internet. I noticed 50% of the total DNS sessions are for the DNS proxy.

We have some other  DNS/DHCP server hosted which used by some other client over the MPLS link which goes through FW.
