Panorama attempting to connect to dummy-iot.services-edge.paloaltonetworks.com

L1 Bithead

Following an upgrade to PAN-OS 10.0.3, Panorama began sending out alerts every 5 minutes:

opaque: gRPC connection to dummy-iot.services-edge.paloaltonetworks.com:443 is broken

We do not have the IoT Subscription, nor can I find anywhere that this is configured.  The error itself is due to the URL not resolving, as it appears to be a placeholder.

Is there somewhere this can be disabled?

To resolve this dummy-iot issue, please do the following in the CLI of your device:

> configure

# set deviceconfig setting iot edge address iot.services-edge.paloaltonetworks.com

# commit force

# exit

> quit

It's a known bug in 10, it's tracked and updated in subsequent software releases. I don't know about disabling the connection entirely, but, this fixes the logging / alert issue.
