I see three locations for Dynamic Updates while logged into the Panorama device.
I think I know what 2&3 are for. 2 is for pushing scheduled updates down to selected firewalls from the Panorama? 3 is if I want Firewalls (in the template) to pull their own updates down based on what schedule I set in that template.
However I dont know what #1 is for? The Panorama its self does not have these features? Is it used to get the updates its pushes down in #2?
Any help would be great!
Thanks!

1. is for panorama itself.
For example, app-id 540-3002 provided new app signature, named 'storix'.
If your panorama is applying 539-2996 and managed device is applying 540-3002,
you can't configure new policy with app 'storix' under panorama context because panorama does not know this app name.
