PRTG monitoring thresholds

L1 Bithead

Hello, i am implementing PRTG and monitoring my PAs. We can monitor CPU, Disk free and Memory. My question is which should be the thresholds and how to react?PaloAlto_LiveCommunity.PNG

Hello,

Thresholds are unique to every organization. Memory on these devices will usually be high since they will use as much as they can. I do monitor CPU, say is there is over 75% for more than 10-20 minutes. This way I can see if the device is getting overloaded. They do a great job of disk cleanup so I dont monitor for that. I would also monitor interface up/down, utilization and netflow. Sending the logs to a SIEM is always a great idea as well.

Cheers!
