"Change Monitor" Reporting

L7 Applicator

Hi community

PAN has this really nice feature called "Change Monitor" in the WebUI under monitor tab>App Scope. Unfortunately this feature is only available in the WebUI and not in Custom Reports or by API.

Has may be someone found a custom solution on how to get the outputs from the "Change Monitor" into periodic/daily automated reports or may be at least something similar to this output?

If there really is no other way: would you also think this would be great to have these Change Monitor screens in custom reports?

Kind Regards

Remo

@Remo,

You currently can't do this with custom reporting and I don't believe the function is available through the API.

@BPry

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately I know that it is not possible with existing functions. My question is more about other ways to achieve this or ideas on how to have such a "Change Monitor" Report (without existing PAN (API) functions).

@Remo,

The only thing that I could think of at the moment would be to pull SaaS Report at the specified intervals, import the values into something like Access, and then do some pretty wicked tricks to actually compare the values and generate a graph based on the changes in value.

You would essentially be rebuilding the function already present but in something that you could actually schedule and put into reports and have it be automatted. I'm not sure if it would really be worth the time investment to rebuild something that is actually there.

If you do put in a feature request for it let me know though, I would definitely upvote it.

@BPry

I already talked to my SE and I will get back as soon I have a FR ID (new or existing).

I totally agree, rebuilding this feature is not worth the time needed.

But I thought about writing a piece of code which runs as a real usersession on a server, starts a browser, logs itself in, goes to change monitor and get the graphic this way 😛 ...

If someone else thinks this would be a great future when it would be possible to schedule these "Change Monitor" reports as parts of the existing Custom Reports ... vote for FR 7484!
