"You have been logged out due to unknown reason"

Any idea what causes this or how to investigate it?  I can see the event as "User Me logged out via Web from My_IP" in the System Monitor tab.  Happens intermittently otherwise I'd look at this: https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000ClvyCAC

This latest time, I did notice that "'Installed antivirus package: panup-all-antivirus-" happened three seconds before I was logged out.

your management server might be restarting

see if any core fils are being generated: > show system files

or any odd messages pop up around the time you're logged off: > less mp-log mp-monitor.log

check if the same type of job runs whenever this happens : > show job all

Did you ever find the cause/resolution for this?

@mikeship

Sadly, no.

you are getting logged out because of "IDLE Timeout" setting.

Device>Management>Authentication Settings> Idle Timeout

So why wouldn't the error message say "Your session has been logged out due to inactivity"?

Hello @RobertShawver,

Did you have a fix on this issue? Facing same issue but no response from anyone and couldn't find this topic troubleshooting in google.

Not sure, why PA didn't keep that as the response message. And regards to my previous response, I stated that because I did see that happening after I specified Idle timeout setting to our NGFW's.

So, I think this is still a question to PA support because it is not documented anywhere.

I have a box running 9.1.7 that never generates this error. I have another running 9.1.14 that seems to log me off with this error every 10 minutes. I was installing the 9.1.14 box with its initial config and it kicked me out before I had time to commit.
