Saving and Exporting Configs

L2 Linker

Can I setup my 5050’s to automatically save and export off their configs to a file server or an FTP server?

Hi,

Whenever you will apply the commit command, the PA firewall will save a snap of config into HDD with timestamp. For more information about save and export config , please follow below mentioned discussion.

Hi,

There is no "official" Scheduler for automatic export yet. But you can ask your SE to sign the Feature Request for you.

Anyway there are some ways to trigger config Backups from external Server

1. Use the XML API How to use the XML API to backup your firewall configuration

2. Or use the remote ssh login (with public/private key for passwordless login) in a shell script on an external Server and execute backup commands:

Firewall does not have an option to back up the config until and unless you use xmli api. If you have a panorama managing your device you can schedule a config export by navigating to Panorama-Schedule Config export--use ftp/scp.
