Suspicious DNS Domain addition

L2 Linker

Hello, is there a way to report suspicious DNS domains to Palo Alto for inclusion on the Palo Alto suspicious DNS query list?  we have a domain which various threat intelligence sources report as suspect/risky but it does not appear in the Palo Alto list.  i know we could set up a custom list but is there a path we an use to report into Palo Alto for addition in the main list?

Thanks

Ryan

Excellent Question.

There are a few things you can do.

1) Configure Telemetry to fwd passive DNS queries to the PANW threat cloud.

When you talk about main list vs custom list... can you describe what you mean?

This could be interpreted as URL category vs custom category list.

Or a custom External Dynamic List.

Hi Steve, i dont have the Telemetry tab, we are on release 7.1.25, not sure if it is an option on 7.1.x.

i believe there is a list of suspicous domains, can see if via Device->Dynanic Updates->Antivirus->Release notes, this is used as default i believe?  i was wondering how we get a domain to appear on here.

Hello,

I highly recommend you upgrade your code due to bug fixes and new features. You can also do it manual if you go to the PAN URL filtering website and then you can have it re-categorized if its incorrect:
