Techdocs Subject not matching content when arriving via search engine link.

L0 Member

When using the following link the header of the page states "Download and Install the GlobalProtect App for Windows" but the text is about "How to install the GlobalProtect App for Linux".

The way I arrived at this page was the following:

I searched for "download global protect agent" using the search engine Startpage.com

One of the results (in my case the first) brought me to this page which stated on the left that it is "End of Life".

I used the dropdown to switch to "Version 6.0" (see the screenshot #2).

This then brought me to the "wrong looking" page where the header states "Windows" but the content shows "Linux".

Some strange behaviour!

Regards

Peter

Hey there @PeterMurr

 a couple things..

First.. that documentation that you are referring to is our TechDocs site.. "docs.paloaltonetworks.com", not LIVEcommunity.  It is a different group.  But I will try to see about notifying the correct people about this.

Second.. I totally get what you are saying, that the GP 6.0 documentation doesn't show the Windows install correctly.  And the main reason is because 6.0 is still in Beta.. so it isn't officially released yet..  which would explain why it isn't showing up correctly.. but they shouldn't have that option available.. as that is confusing.  So sorry for that one.

But it does show for GP 5.3 and other versions that are NOT EOL here: https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/globalprotect/5-3/globalprotect-app-user-guide/globalprotect-app-f...

So the 6.0 is beta.. and will be updated as soon as it is released GA.

I hope this helps.
