Hi, we have a cluster PA-2050 with PanOS 5.0.8 and UserID agent version 4.1.6-5.

We are going to do an upgrade to a PanOS 6.0.5. Is there any critical issue in this 6.0.5??? Its necessary update the User-id agents too????? we dont want to update at least there are an incompatibility between PanOS 6.0.0 and agents 4.1.6-5....

thanks

Hi,

You should use User-ID agent 6.0.0 version as well. If you are planning to use 6.0.5, you can then you can go for 6.0.5-h3. Hope this halped.

Yes i see that thanks a lot....

one question, when the userid agents should be updates??? before the upgrade PanOS or after???????

its compatible PanOS 5.0.8 with userid 6.0.0?????

thanks

Hello COS,

There are no dependencies between PAN OS and User-ID agent. Hence, you may install the PAN OS first then verify the User-ID functionality and then proceed for the User-ID upgrade.

Thanks

Since you are looking to go to 6.0.5, you may want to look at 6.0.8 since there are more fixes to known vulnerabilities. Also Upgrading your agents to the highest 6 version wouldn't hurt either. I have two serer that run the agent and I usually upgrade one then wait a day or two then the other. That way if one goes south due to the upgrade, it wont take both of them down.

Good luck!
