my appliance is on PAN OS 8.0.0. Can we upgrade directly to 8.0.2. Can't find any info about this.

Yes you can go directly.
If you are already 8.0.0 then download 8.0.2, install and reboot the firewall.
You have to leave 8.0.0 firmware also into the box as it is base image and 8.0.2 is upgrade package.
