Hi Guys,
I'm planning my panorama upgrade from 6.1.8 to 7.1.x, before starting with process, i want few doubts to be cleared.
1. My firewalls are still on 6.1.8, as per the PaloAlto documentation, after upgrading Panorama, it won't effect firewalls and keeps collecting logs.
2. While upgrading, during upgrading activity my firewalls will lost connection to Panorama, would it effect to any traffic passing from my firewall, since logs collector (Panorama) will be down.
Regards

for 1. it will not affect the firewalls directly and logs will be collcted, you may however run into trouble if you need to push policy/templates
for 2. the logs are stored until panorama becomes available again at which time the firewall will forward them. this will not impact traffic passing through the firewall
if it takes longer for panorama to return than the firewall can retain the logs (these are exactly the same log files as the system uses, there is no separate 'panorama' logdb, the logs are simply flagged for forwarding) the older logs are purged so you may see a gap in the logs on panorama after the queue has been processed
