URL filtering feature in PA 3220

Hi All,

I would really appreciate if someone can let me know whether URL filtering feature is enabled by default in PA 3220 or Pan OS 10 or a subscription for URL filtering have to be purchased. Is there any default URL filtering features available in Pan OS 10?

Really appreciate your comments.

Thank you,

Gayan Samarakoon

There is no URL filtering license out of the box. You will have to purchase URL Filtering subscription. Without license you are only left with the option to create custom URL categories. Here is corresponding KB: https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000ClGfCAK

Kind Regards

Pavel

Hello

As long as you don't need the predefined URL categories (see https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000Cm5hCAC), you can apply filters on URLs (e.g. .google.com/ ).

Something else to keep in mind is that VM-50 is fully licensed, so if you go for lower throughput, there are more options out of the box.
