way to block custom ip address and network address in Palo Alto

L1 Bithead

Hi ,

On our Cisco FMC we had a group of IP’s and networks – something like 350 in number that we put in a group and then blocked them.  In Palo Alto Panorama, the articles that I read says I need to create addresses/objects for each and every one of them and then add them to address group.  Surely there must be an easier way for this that I am missing.  Please can you point me in the direction of how I can achieve this?

Hi @ismailsh ,

You could use an EDL -> https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/9-1/pan-os-admin/policy/use-an-external-dynamic-list-in-pol....  All you need to do is create a text file hosted on an internal web server.  You can add or remove IPs from the text file.  The nice thing about EDLs is that the list is updated at the refresh interval.  You do not have to commit.

Thanks,

Tom

PS Definitely use the built in PANW EDLs also.
