What happens to active sessions in Dual ISP Scenario

L4 Transporter

We have 2 ISP's, primary is down right now. Both ISP's connect to different interfaces. When Primary comes up, the interface will be different for outgoing/incoming traffic. Will the active rdp/web sessions/GlobalProtect/IPSEC tunnels drop when primary link becomes active again. Or will it be seamless.

Hi @raji_toor ,

Great question . As per my understanding established sessions will not follow the route lookup so in this case it will continue to use ISP 2 once the ISP 1 became active. New sessions initiated will route through ISP 1. Hope it helps.

Thanks,

Ram

Yes, existing sessions take some time to route through ISP1. We were in this situation yesterday and can confirm it.
