Why SSL Certificate Is Required In The Gateway When Tunnel Mode Is In IPSEC

L3 Networker

Hi Team,

Wants to understand why ssl certficate is required in the gateway when tunnel mode is in IPSEC. Can anyone please provide the in depth connectivity process and justification for the need of SSL certificate on each gateway.

@Sethupathi I think the initial connection is still over SSL and after authentication the traffic tunnel is either IPSec or SSL.

Also, I don't think you can have IPSec only mode and you always need SSL failback.

Hi Team,

Could you please help us here!
