Has anyone else noted a materical change in 'dubious' Wildfire alerts in the last 24 hours?
We have seen a material shift - as if a new detection engine/function has been enabled (and may possibly be a bit too sensitive).

We see the same problem, already reported wrong detections but didn´t get feedback till now.
All of the file where categorized as malware because of suspicious network activity - but all there is to see in the pcap is the time sync with time.windows.com => akamai hosts
Now URL filtering gets ugly too, a Windows Update URL is categorized as malware O_O

We're seeing similar alerts. Since midnight we've had ~55 Wildfire alerts. We typically see only 1 or 2 per week.
I've spot-checked about a dozen of our alerts. One commonality is that the most "severe" indicator is "connected to a malicious domain", triggered from the Win7 VM. I haven't made it into the PCAPs yet but the only "DNS queries" listed are "akadns.net", "akadns.org", or "time.windows.com". The only "Connections" listed are to a MS NTP server.
I have a feeling one of those domains has been flagged and now every Wildfire submission that targets it gets labeled as malware.

Yeah - this is what we're seeing.
Looking at some of the sumamry results we also see reference to installing services etc, but nothing in the detailed data.
It looks to me like they're having problems with the engine incorrectly triggering.

We've had 12 hits since 1am...Most of which were .xls or .pdf
0 in the previous 3 days.

TAC just notified me that Wildfire had a bug this morning and that they patched it and if you are getting quick wildfire signature updates you should already have the fix. If not, download the latest signature update to get the fix.

While we havent seen this particuylar issue. Ours is that the PAN's will fail to connect to the cloud for updates. I have a TAC case open and they informed me that the issue is on their end. Perhaps our failure to obtian the definitions that cause your issues is what spared us the headache.
