I've seen Migration Tool OVA for ESX 5.5.

Could it work on ESX 5.1?  I've been working in lab environment on ESX 5.0.

Would you recommend an older release to work with ESX 5.1?

Regards.

Hi,

I didnt check to be honest. But if not you can download the vmware player version and migrate to ESX5.0? At the end you only needs to convert the disk. There is a procedure form the VMware site to convert a vmdk files to be imported into ESX but im not the Vmware expert sorry 🙂 Hope that helps
