New software 11.1.6-h3 network issue

L0 Member

Hi guys,

May I ask if any of you are currently using the latest  preferred version 11.1.6-h3?

Recently, I upgraded my firewall from 11.1.4-h9 to 11.1.6-h3 in my lab (VM workstation environment), and my firewall has become very slow.

I am unable to access the management page through GUI and SSH commands.

Currently, my VM-PA uses 8GB of memory and 4 CPUs.

When I switch to other versions of the firewall, it is very smooth in the same network environment. Do you have any good suggestions?

Regards & Thanks,

Nate Zhao

Hello @z.zhao910379 ,

You can start to open a case to the support.

Regarding the version, you can maybe consider to stay on 11.1.4-hx (hotfix 13 and 15 out)

--> minimal amount of code change compared to 11.1.4-h9 compared to 11.1.6-h3, I counted 312 fixes introduced in 11.1.5 - so present on 11.1.6 as well.

Eventually, you can open a case to Support to investigate on 11.1.6 (if nobody report the issue, it may never be fixed).

I am very surprised 11.1.6 h3 was designated a preferred release. A lot of bugs fixed in later versions of 11.1.6.  I really hope Palo Alto designates a new preferred 11.1 version that includes all the recent bug and security fixes.
