PAN-OS 11 GUI Responsiveness - PA-1410

L1 Bithead

We have some new PA-1410's which are to replace some older oversized PA-3220's. The downsize is the PA-1400 series require us to use PAN-OS 11.

Even with minimal out of the box config (management IP etc) the web UI on both units is very slow and unresponsive. At times the web GUI fails to load at all and needs several refreshes. A restart helps for a period but the issues then return. It is at the level where day to day admin would be very painful.

Anyone any experience with the PA-1400 and/or PAN-OS 11, surely this is not to be expected?

We have requested a case with support but wanted to hear experiences from others.

On further testing this seems to be a Chrome browser based issued. We have the same issue in the latest versions of Chrome (112.0.5615.121) and Edge however the UI is working as expected in Firefox.

how quick is a commit time on it?

Commit is all good, not noticeable time difference from the 3220.

1410 is live today and no issues so far. It does appear to be an issue with the GUI in Chrome as we have had no issues in Firefox at all. However Chrome is unusable, very slow to load and often pages don't load at all.

I know this is an old thread but it still seems to be an issue, did you get any further with this?

I have two different standalone PA-1410:s on verison 11.1.4.h1 and the UI for both of them are insanely slow, both with current version of Edge & Firefox.

It was the same thing on 11.0.x, and they barely have any configuration at all. about 1-5% CPU Utilization on Mangement CPU.
