Can a firewall hostname be setup as a variable in a Template?

L1 Bithead

Setting up a bunch of new firewalls and would like to push the host names down as a variable in a template.

Doesn't look like hostname is a variable type.   Am I missing something?

Thank you for the post @RHuss1

I do not think you are missing anything. Only configuration values mentioned in this article can be set as a variable: https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/10-1/pan-os-web-interface-help/panorama-web-interface/panor... The hostname is not on the list. I do not believe there is a way around it. You will likely have to create a template for each Firewall to configure name.

Kind Regards

Pavel
