Copy settings from one template to a new another template

Is it possible to copy settings from one template to another template? Settings like LDAP servers?

Yes, there are multiple ways to copy settings from one template to another.

 

  1. The easiest is to copy the set commands for one section.  Change the template name, and paste.
    1. Change the CLI config output to set format, >set cli config-output-format set.
    2. Find the config section with #show | match <unique-ldap-name>.
  2. You could also use load config partial.  https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/9-1/pan-os-cli-quick-start/use-the-cli/load-configurations/...  It is more complicated and can be too long for the CLI.
  3. You could also clone a template.
