Panorama, firewalls in different timezone causing issues with splunk

L1 Bithead

Our Panorama is in Dublin Ireland.  We have a lot of firewalls deployed in different time zones based on which country they are deployed.  All of our logs from Panorama are forwarded to splunk.

What we noticed is that Splunk logs of our Palo Alto devices are off by 1 hour.

What is the best practice that others use in their environment?  Do they keep the panorama and all the firewalls in the same time zone even if they are deployed in different countries or continents?

Has anyone else seen this issue with splunk and how did they resolve it?

Hello @Ismailsh

from what I have seen in other organizations as well as the one I am working for is to set a common time zone regardless of device location. Also, having different time zone set between Firewall and Panorama might cause an issue described in this KB: Device logs are not showing up in the Panorama GUI due to mismatch of the time.

Kind Regards

Pavel
