Hi Community,
I have this situation where I’m unable to change serial number on Panorama VM to upload license. The reason I am unable to change serial number via dashboard is because the Log collector configured locally is using a different serial number.
I tried deleting the log collector, and log collector groups.
then tried adding serial number, still got the same error. “Serial number can’t be changed on log collector”
any ideas on this would be appreciated.

You need to reboot Panorama after deleting the log collector and then you can change the serial number. Still not a great overall solution because there is a lot of work if you want to back up and rebuild your log collector configuration and re-import logs. Tried this on 10.1.6, don't know about other versions.

Did your company purchase additional Panorama subscriptions? If so, then not sure I fully understand the need to swap out the serial number on the appliance, vs just spin up a new Panorama appliance, assign the serial number to a new appliance, and put on a new Log Collector configuration (as it appears you are comfortable in deleting/re-creating the log collector objects on this single Panorama).
Can you just build out a new Panorama appliance, with SN, and migrate you configuration (prior to configuring the log collector components?)

Thanks.. this worked for me . Same issue , i was not able to use new serial number even after deleting log collectors . But when I rebooted Panorama and then tried to add new serial number it worked .
