Upgrade to 11.1.4-h1 for both Panorama and managed firewalls

L0 Member

Hello,

I'm beginner with Palo Alto and want to ask somes questions:

I can upgrade panorama (10.2.10-h2 actually to 11.1.4-h1) but when i check updates in device deployement for my managed firewall (VM,PA-3200,PA-460-,PA-410) i don't see a similar version.

Does i need to do something like upgrade panorama before?

Hi @SDELETTREZ

First refer the compatibility matrix given here against all your Palo Alto firewall platforms.

If you see your firewall model is compatible with target panos then check,

1. Your firewall has an active support.

2. Firewall has internet connectivity to get updates from Palo Alto Update server

3. Firewall has DNS server configured so it can resolve the IP address of Palo Alto Update Server URL.

4. In order to have latest software versions fetched from the update server and visible for download, the previous major software version base/maintenance release image has to be installed. Please check if this is the case with you.

5. You have not mentioned firewall current panos version here. Make sure to follow upgrade path. This article here by  @kiwi is much useful for planning and executing the upgrades.

Hope it helps!
