VM Interfaces disconnected after ESXi Upgrade to 8.0.3

Hi, after an upgrade of an ESXi box hosting a PaloAlto VM we had issues which in the end forced usto reinstall the instance.

We upgraded a VMware ESXi host from 7.0.3.x to 8.0.3, 24280767 and after the reboot everything seemed fine at first sight.

But the PaloAlto VM had just it’s management interface connected and online. All traffic interfaces were in state “disconnected” on the PaloAlto VM.

The ESXi host was not complaining and the interfaces were in “connected” state.

The PaloAltpo VM was running 10.2.9-h1 and did not see any issue in the logs. Interfaces were available but “disconnected”.

Rebooting, disconnecting/reconnecting, changing vlans/config on ESXi was not helpful.

Even an upgrade to 11.x did not help.

Installing a fresh VM via OVA worked as expected with the same configuration as before, but on the new ESXi version.

Any thoughts about that one?

Thx!
