On December 5th, 2023, Palo Alto Networks completed the acquisition of Dig Security. Dig Security is a market leader in Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and Data Detection & Response (DDR). In integration with our recent acquisition of Dig Security into Prisma Cloud, we have also released the Prisma DSPM module as a leading solution.

With this new offering, we are now phasing out the existing Prisma Cloud Data Security (PCDS) module.

What’s Changing

Please refer to the timeline below on the EOS and EOL process for PCDS:

  • End of Sale is effective as of August 31, 2024. From this date onwards, Prisma Cloud tenants can no longer subscribe to the PCDS module.
    • Tenants that have already subscribed to the PCDS module can continue to use it until End of Life.
  • End of Life / End of support will be effective 1 year from the End of Sales process - August 31, 2025. PCDS subscribed tenants will no longer be able to use PCDS and will have the option to use Prisma Cloud DSPM instead.

Replacement Alternatives

Prisma Cloud DSPM is generally available effective July 31, 2024, as part of Prisma Cloud and offers a comprehensive set of capabilities for supporting data security initiatives among which:

  • Automated discovery and classification of a wide range of data store services across multi-cloud, DBaaS and more.
  • Data Security Risk Assessment and Posture Analysis across multiple aspects including data configuration, exposure, and movement.
  • Data Detection and Response capabilities including threat detection across data exfiltration, pre-attack probing, and compliance exposure.
