Enhanced Security Measures in Place: To ensure a safer experience, we’ve implemented additional, temporary security measures for all users.
LIVEcommunity lives and breathes data privacy. On a daily basis, our own sleuth senior solution engineers, Joe Delio (@jdelio) and Kim Wens (@kiwi), answer your questions regarding data privacy and how to best effectively use the products and tools Palo Alto Networks offers to make your organization secure.
Data Privacy Day began in the United States and Canada in January 2008 as an extension of the Data Protection Day celebration in Europe. Data Protection Day commemorates the Jan. 28, 1981 signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection. Data Privacy Day is observed annually on Jan. 28th.
“Data Privacy Day is just like a health check up, but for your security and privacy posture, to keep your data secure and your company protected,” explains Joe Delio, LIVEcommunity’s Sr. Staff Engineer Knowledge. "This also would be a great time to look at some of those old passwords that haven't been changed in a long time. Think of this like a Digital Spring Cleaning for your passwords."
Although I'm sure that many of you in the community have data security on the top of your mind everyday, the Palo Alto Networks LIVEcommunity team wants to do our part to help secure our digital way of life. Data Privacy Day is great reminder that we all need to do our part to keep our networks safe and secure.
According to Sr. Solutions Engineers, Kim Wens, "Cyberattacks are frequently making the news. Just a few weeks ago, a very big company in Belgium was the target of a cyberattack. Data Privacy Day is a great occasion to reflect on your company's security and privacy posture. It's important to understand where your data is kept, how much there is of it, and how to protect the different kinds of data.”
To learn more about Data Privacy day, StaySafeOnline is hosting its Annual Data Privacy day event on January 28th, starting at 1pm EST. The event will feature many industry experts speaking about different privacy related topics.
There are going to be some interesting discussions that are going to take place regarding the new California Consumer Privacy Act, as well as discussions about GDPR regulations.
