Hello everyone, the new Traps Agent 6.1.5 has been released. Although there are not a lot of changes with this new version, there are still some items that I would like to call to your attention.

The new features for Traps Agent 6.1.5 allow you to install the Traps agent on endpoints that use the WPAD (Web Proxy Auto-Discovery) protocol. Along with that, there has been a change to the default behavior. This has to do with the communication of Cortex XDR agents and Cortex XDR Server that use app-specific proxies and how that proxy is selected.

Read below to get all of the details about these changes.

New features introduced in Traps agent 6.1.5 release*

FEATURE DESCRIPTION
Agent Proxy Settings in WPAD Environments You can now install the Traps agent on endpoints that acquire their proxy settings through Web Proxy Auto-Discovery (WPAD) protocol. When the endpoint is set to Automatically detect settings in its network configuration, either manually or scripted, the Traps agent is now able to use the settings as automatically received through the defined PAC file. No additional agent settings are required for this use case.

Random Selection of App-specific Proxy If your Cortex XDR agents communicate with the Cortex XDR server through app-specific proxies, now the proxy server for each communication is selected from the list of proxies randomly with equal probability, rather than according to their order of definition.
