Cortex XDR Agent offline notification

L1 Bithead

Hello Team,

I would like to be notified by email when an XDR Agent goes offline.

However, I could not find a function to notify the agent status.

Do you know of any documentation that explains how to configure the agent status notification function?

Regards,
Yusuke Narita

Hello @Y.Narita347153 ,

Thanks for reaching out on live community.

You will be able to monitor the running status of XDR agent in agent audit logs.Screenshot 2025-08-18 at 7.44.36 PM.png

Hi @Y.Narita347153

Bear in mind that you might get flooded by alerts depending on the type of behavior of your endpoints, because of agent, endpoint, network behaviors.

I would recommend to create a new Notification configuration.

Go to Cogwheel Settings ---> Configurations ---> from the menu in the left column select Notifications and on the upper right button select Add Forwarding Configuration

Select a descriptive name and description and on Log Type, select Agent Audit Logs.

You will see then a table where you can filter the type of logs you want to be alerted upon.

Play with the filters to select the exact types of events you are interested in (you can even select just servers, or some critical endpoints... together with other options)

My recommendation (for your use case) would be to select on Type field = Agent Service and Agent Status , use the operator AND and then the field Severity = High

This will give you events of agent/endpoint lost, agent deactivation.......

On the next screen you can select some more options like emails to receive the alerts.

Please check the doc for more info:
