CORTEX XDR - Endpoint delete

L0 Member

Good morning dears,

I want your opinion, I have devices disconnected for a long time (3 months) so I am planning to delete from the console and recover the licenses.

My question is whether the device will have problems uninstalling when it is reconnected at some point.

I will be attentive to your comments.

Dear @JoseLuis_Pfuro ,

Hope you are doing well and thank you for reaching out to the Live community. From the above query I understand that you would like to know what happens to the devices once they are deleted from the Console.

Please note that the endpoint status changes to deleted, and the license returns immediately to the license pool. After a retention period of 90 days, the agent is deleted from the database and is displayed in Cortex XDR as Endpoint Name - N/A.

Please find documentation linked below for more information on what happens to the endpoint once deleted from the XDR portal, also you can find multiple ways of uninstalling the agent on the endpoints for smooth deletion of the XDR tool on the devices.

Hello @JoseLuis_Pfuro ,

Deleting the machines without uninstallation is like soft deletion from UI. You have to stop the tamper protection and uninstall the agent whenever you wish to. In case if Tamper protection is not working you can collect the token hash from local endpoint and retrieve token from UI.
