High memory utilization

L3 Networker

Hello,

We are experiencing high disk space and high memory utilization on servers .

How to stop endpoint data collection in cortex xdr?

Can we delete data from traps folder? If yes what all files we can delete ?

How can we lower disk space utilization?

Hi @Shashanksinha

Thank you for writing to Live Community. Instead of deleting data from traps folder, I would suggest opening a support ticket through our support portal so that one of our support engineers can take a deeper look at this.

Hope this helps.

Thank You

Hello Shashank,

Thank you for sharing your issue our team would like to help you if you don't mind ... so let see here

To stop endpoint data collection in Cortex XDR, you can follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Cortex XDR management console.

  2. Go to the Endpoints tab.

  3. Select the endpoint you want to stop data collection for.

  4. Click the gear icon next to the endpoint name and select "Edit Settings."

  5. In the "General" tab, turn off the "Endpoint Data Collection" toggle switch.

  6. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Regarding deleting data from the Traps folder, it is generally not recommended to delete any files from this folder manually as it may cause issues with the Traps agent's functionality. However, if you are running low on disk space and need to clear up some space, you can configure Traps to automatically remove older log files by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the Traps management console.

  2. Click the "Settings" tab.

  3. Click the "Log Settings" tab.

  4. Under the "Retention Settings" section, configure the number of log files to keep and the maximum size of each file.

  5. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Finally, to lower disk space utilization, you can try the following:

  1. Remove any unnecessary files and applications from the server.

  2. Implement a regular disk cleanup and defragmentation process.

  3. Implement disk compression to reduce the size of files and folders.

  4. Move large files to an external storage device or a cloud storage service.

  5. Implement a server monitoring tool to identify and address any disk space issues proactively.
