Upgrade agents locally

L2 Linker

Hello,

Is there any option available to upgrade agent from local agent console? (Eg: If local IT team can upgrade agent from endpoint directly)

Thanks

Hi NivedaR,

You can either use the console to upgrade via actions, or you can install a new agent of the version you want.  You will need to create a new installation package that can be used with the console or to distribute and run locally.  There is no option via the cytool utility to perform an upgrade.

Hi , Thank you !

Hi Afruze,

By this statement "or to distribute and run locally"  do you mean like a fresh install ?

Thanks.

Hi @NivedaR , you can run the Agent Installation packages locally on existing agents to perform the upgrade. There is no need to uninstall and perform fresh installation.

However, if the agent has Agent Tampering Protection enabled, you will need to disable it first before performing the upgrade locally.

There are two methods to disable it:

1. via Agent Settings profile

2. via cytool command

That's correct, creating a new install package and running it would be a fresh install.
