The Required TSF File Upload For Suppot Tickets

L0 Member

It is required to upload a TSF file for all support cases.  The previous admin left, and I have limited experience outside of the webGUI.  Currently, an expired certificate blocks access to the webGUI.  I tried to generate the TSF with:

 request tech-support dump

Then tried to upload to the ticket with:

scp export tech-support to <jobID>@tacupload.paloaltonetworks.com:./

The ticket doesn't show the upload, and I still can't complete the ticket submission without the file upload.  Also, I do not know if there is an attached server or it's IP.  That is why a direct upload was attempted.

Hello @S.Hillcenter

you can install locally in your PC SCP or TFTP server and upload the TSF file directly to your PC, then attach it to the TAC ticket. Here is a reference: How to Collect Tech Support File from a Log Collector. The KB is for log collector, but you can use the same commands for Firewalls as well. In the past when I had to get TSF from log collector, I recall memory to use WinSCP client on Windows machine that worked well.

Regarding direct upload to support portal, could you refer to this KB: How to Generate and Upload a Tech Support File Using the WebGUI and CLI? The <The TAC case number>@tacupload.paloaltonetworks.com:./ should match including leading zeros.

Kind Regards

Pavel
