5.0.3 - Panorama Hanging on Commit

L4 Transporter

Has anyone else, with a 5.0.3 install, seen Panorama hang - requiring a hard (in the VM sense!) reset?

Twice within 48 hours of upgrading to this version have I had Panorama freeze totally when commiting.

First time was a local commit (saving a policy change) - GUI froze, SSH console hung after accepting credentials.

Second time was when pushing an updated policy to devices - same symptoms.

I have not heard of any of these issues occurring.

Please open a case with support for further investigation.

I have had nothing but issues since upgrading to 5.0.3.. I have this issue as well.. committed through panorama.. and 1 of the firewalls in the device group is stuck on commit sent.  Been 15 hours now.. cant log into the device via GUI or CLI..not accepting credentionals.. Palo support suggests hard resetting device.  This is painful!!

FYI We downgraded back to 5.0.2 and it is *better*, but we've had one "commit hang" since (we hadn't one for 2+ years prior).  If it happens again we'll be opening a support call.

Hmm, that sounds like a PAN-OS side issue rather than Panorama.

Did you find the commit job running on the firewall?

Yes, it is running on one of the active FWs.  I scheduled to reboot the FW tonight.
