I am using a PA200 with 7.1.7 and app version 652. There is an app-id called amazon-instant-video. After I watched Grand tour on amazon video on ipad and air play on the apple tv. I want to see how many gigabytes did I just use, I can't find using that app-id.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
E

It looks like it is identified as http-audio and flip back to http-video as well. If that is the case, what is that amazon instant video app-id for ?
Thanks,
E

Hi,
I think it's for the on-demand video offering from Amazon. Palo Alto Networks should update it to include Prime Video. Here in Canada, the traffic for Prime Video shows up as SSL.

This is what Applipedia gives me.. Still not sure what will classify as it! Looks to be a good application to try and test.

I believe that Amazon has really transfered away from this and now just labels everyting amazon prime video. The App-ID itself still work perfectly fine, you might not be catching it because you are coming from on iPad and you likely don't have any type of decrytpion setup on the iPad?

From my own testing and verified with TAC,
From a Windows PC or MAC, if you login to amazon video and stream it via the browser. The APP-ID will show as amazon instant-video. If I am using the iOS device and using the amzon video app. The app-id will show as http-video and http-audio just keep flapping between.
The streaming is all done via tcp port 80, not encrpyted at all.
TAC is working with engineering to come up with an update to address this.

What is the underlying service for this on an iPad?

It should be amazon-instant-video, but depending on which country you live in, the video stream might show up as http-video. I have a case open because the traffic is not properly identified in Canada.

Same here in San Jose, CA as well. TAC is still working on it.

Content Update version 678 included a modified app-id for amazon-instant video. It seems to work 50% of the time. It failed when the server address is 8.254.230.89. Updating the TAC case "again"...
