Block Outbound SSTP (Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol)

L1 Bithead

Is there a timeline when the ability to block SSTP outbound will become available or is it possible now?

Microsoft's latest and greatest is surely a hole that it would seem most don't want in their environment.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated... thus far it seems that only TMG (Threat Management Gateway) can block SSTP short of blocking access to :443.

Thank you in advance Smiley Happy

Hi,

I do not see any reference to this application signature for sstp , keep in mind we would only be able to Identify this if there was an ssl decrypt policy on the PAN device.

You could submit an application signature request to support, this would allow a complete investigation.

Regards,

Gary S.

Thank you, I will follow up with the request.

Our Sales Rep, a few months ago, indicated that blocking of SSTP would be investigated but I have not heard from him since.

Thanks again Smiley Happy

I’ve just searched for SSTP and its not listing – Is there a date when it will be identified and also will there be a decoder for SSL decryption?

Thanks
