Can the number of profiles supported be increased by license?

Not applicable

Hi,

We have a PA-FW PA-3020. I checked the parameter: cfg.general.max-profile and its value = 100. Means that only 100 profiles can be created on the device. Can we increase this limit by going for a higher license? or is this model dependent and we have to upgrade to a higher model like PA-5060.

What is the maximum limit of URL profiles supported on any model?

Regards,

Charanjeet

Hello Charanjeet,

That would be a hardware limitation. You would have to upgrade to a higher PA model to accommodate for higher number of profiles.

For example on a PA3050,  maximum number of  security profiles is 250 (and that includes any combinations of Anti-virus, Vulnerability, Anti-spyware, URL filtering, file blocking and Data filtering )

cfg.general.max-profile: 250

Thanks and regards,

Hello Charanjeet,

To add more, I have tested with adding license "Multi-Vsys" to the device and still the profiles max for 3050 platform is at 250. This would clearly indicate its a hardware design specifications.

Thanks

Just to verify that you by "security profiles" doesnt mean "security rules"?
