I have noticed that whenever I log into my firewall now the commit option is always available. I haven't made changes yet I can click commit. Whats up with that? I would expect it to be grayed out like right after I do the commit.

Try not closing the commit window until it reaches 100%, if you do the commit will still be "on", at least that's what I've seen on our 5050-boxes with 4.1.4.

My guess would be to avoid bugs in the GUI that would disable your commit button when it shouldnt.
You can for instance always run commit when you are in CLI, so why not for GUI?
What about the save button, isnt that one still greyed out if you didnt do any configchanges?
