Need to configure the following in CLI:

Port ha1-a

@MrWonderful

I tested this on my PA 3020 Runnin 8.1.5 I created zones, policies and vwire.

I was able to delete the vwire name  default-vwire first.

So in my test order of deletion does not matter.

Hi @MrWonderful ,

I want to go a step back, what device module are you deploying?

Is it physical device or it is virtual one?

@MP18 Were you able to do that via the command line?  I couldn't get it to delete for love or money on the CLI.

It's a bit moot now as I was able to finally get in on the Network.

I appreciate all your help though!

@MrWonderful

Yes i was able to do it via CLI.

No issues for me.

@aleksandar.astardzhiev It's a physical device.  But it's kind of moot now as I'm up and running.  Well, past that issue anyways.  Thanks for your time.

Hey @MrWonderful ,

I was asking because most of the physical devices have dedicated ports for HA1 and HA2, so you don't actually need to allocate dataplane interfaces for HA with command like this:

set network interface ethernet ethernet1/3 comment "Reserved for HA1" ha
set network interface ethernet ethernet1/4 comment "Reserved for HA2" ha

It seems only the smallest PA-220 doesn't have dedicated ha port - https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/products/product-comparison?chosen=pa-220,pa-850,pa-820 So if you use something bigger than that you should use those.

Sorry if you already have done that, but from the above replies I understand that you are struggling with allocating eth1/1 and 1/2 as HA links

Hi @aleksandar.astardzhiev

You are correct, there are dedicated ports, but we do the backup links as well.

Control Link (HA1) - Port - ha1-1

Control Link (HA1 Backup) - Port ha1-b

Data Link (HA2) - Port - ethernet1/1

Data Link (HA2 Backup) - Port - ethernet1/2
